High-performance alloys are designed to meet a specific challenge. In medical applications, these alloys are typically optimized to improve on characteristics such as corrosion resistance, strength, fatigue resistance, ductility, wear resistance or biocompatibility.

Fort Wayne Metals can further expand the usefulness of these materials by combining them with other alloys in a DFT® composite. For example, a DFT® wire consisting of a 35N LT® sheath and a silver core provides high conductivity through the core, while the 35N LT® gives the composite a high level of strength and fatigue resistance.
