Titanium has many advantages over stainless steels: despite being lightweight, it provides great strength and outstanding corrosion resistance. In the area of medical devices, another property is just as important: titanium is fully biocompatible. Additionally, commercially pure titanium promotes osseointegration, or the ingrowth of bone into the material, which helps anchor implants in the body.

Fort Wayne Metals has worked with titanium for decades – we have even established a proprietary drawing process that allows us to produce material with a much smoother surface than our competition. If you need the strength of alloyed titanium and the benefits of commercially pure grade 4 titanium, leverage both properties with 4TiTUDE® bar.

We routinely work with the following grades of titanium:
We also work with the following titanium alloys upon request:
  • Ti Grade 5 / Ti 6Al-4V (ASTM F-136 · ASTM B348 · ASTM B863 · ISO 5832-3)
  • Ti-6Al-7Nb (ASTM F-1295 · ISO 5832-11)
  • Ti-3Al-2.5V (ASTM B-348 · ASTM B-863
  • Ti Beta 3 / Ti 11.5Mo-6Zr-4.5Sn
  • Ti Beta C / Ti-3Al-8V-6Cr-4Zr-4Mo

We also use titanium in DFT® composites.
