Fort Wayne Metals Laboratory characterizes the physical properties of our materials using several mechanical tests including tension, bending, and torsion. Each of these tests provides vital information as to how the material will perform under various conditions.
We also perform extensive Rotary Beam Fatigue testing on our materials for characterization. Rotary Beam Fatigue is an accelerated life test enabling us to define the effects of material modifications or process improvements or approving a new material source. See our White Papers listed in the Resource Library segment for more information on how we utilize the Rotary Beam Fatigue testing.
