DBS

microscopic photo of dbs cross section

DBS® (or Drawn Brazed Strand) consists of alloy wires stranded around a core wire of a softer, highly conductive material such as silver. The wire is then brazed and drawn in the normal wire drawing process. The resulting wire combines increased fatigue life, high conductivity, and great solderability with good strength properties.

DBS allows for greater stresses in strands and cable applications while maintaining excellent conductivity. The core wire size can be adjusted to make the final silver content between 20-25%. Uses include wire, strands, cables, pacemaker leads, high fatigue applications, applications requiring solderability and more.
