Fort Wayne Metals has worked with an ever expanding variety of alloys since our company was founded. In the 1970s, we originated the use of vacuum melted stainless steel in wires for minimal invasive surgical products. During the 1990s our technological advancements helped bring about the use of Nitinol in the medical device market. We are also one of the few facilities to draw titanium fine wire and have even developed a proprietary process to do so.

Our engineering and technical staff conducts studies on our processed alloys as well as taking active roles in organizations such as ASM International, The Materials Information Society and the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM).
